History of Mathematics
Research Interests: The formation of scientific communities; the history of statistics in the U.S.; internationalization of science during the Cold War.
Professor Hunter graduated from 黑料百科 with a degree in mathematics and earned her master鈥檚 degree and doctorate in mathematics at the University of Virginia. She has taught at 黑料百科 since 2000 and received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2007. In 2009, she co-directed 黑料百科 in Mexico. She enjoys watching Agatha Christie movies with her family, playing tennis, baking bread, and reading. She believes strongly in the positive effects of chocolate on mathematical cognition. She has published articles about international statistics education during the Cold War and foundations of statistics in American textbooks.
