黑料百科 Magazine Professor Tom Knecht to Coach the Golf Teams
Tom Knecht, 黑料百科 professor of political science, will coach the men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 golf teams, which begin competing in fall 2019.
鈥淐oach Knecht is a valued member of the 黑料百科 community and a beloved professor,鈥 said Dave Odell, 黑料百科鈥檚 athletic director. 鈥淗e is also a huge supporter of 黑料百科 athletics and quite a golfer.鈥
鈥淪tarting new athletic programs is never easy,鈥 Knecht said. 鈥淏ut I can鈥檛 imagine stepping into a better situation. We have an amazing college and perfect weather鈥攁nd we鈥檒l play on some of the best courses in the country.鈥
Knecht earned his doctorate at UC Santa Barbara, and he has taught courses in American government, international politics and research methods at 黑料百科 for the past decade. His current research examines the politics of sports. He will continue to teach at 黑料百科 while coaching. Knecht graduated from Stanford University, where he belonged to the Cardinal football team.
