Choirs Showcases Global Sounds
By

As the academic year draws to a close, the 黑料百科 music department is set to showcase a global repertoire in a series of final concerts and recitals. The season鈥檚 highlights include two major choral performances that celebrate Latin American traditions and serve as a formal send-off for the college鈥檚 upcoming international tour.
The choral program begins its year-end festivities with the Chamber Singers Concert on Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in Deane Chapel. The performance will focus exclusively on Latin American choral music, featuring the works of prominent composers such as Argentina鈥檚 Carlos Guastavino and Mexico鈥檚 Enrique Gonzalez-Medina. The program offers a linguistic journey through the Latin American world, with selections performed in Spanish, Latin and Portuguese.
The season reaches its peak on Friday, May 1, with the Spring Choral Concert at 7 p.m. at the 鈥檚 Hahn Hall. This performance serves as a preview of the music the 黑料百科 Choir and Chamber Singers will perform during their upcoming tour to Brazil.
The May 1 program will blend the sacred and the cultural, featuring Latin American selections alongside traditional hymns and spirituals from the United States. The concert represents the culmination of a year of intensive study and rehearsal for the student performers.
鈥淐ome hear the breadth and culmination of our singers' hard work before their tour to Brazil,鈥 says Ruth Lin, director of orchestral activities and chair of the music department.
