鈥淚t is a wonderful way to start the semester with great performers and exciting music,鈥 says Han Soo Kim, 黑料百科 assistant professor of music. 鈥淣ot only is it a learning experience for the students, but it鈥檚 enjoyable for the faculty as we collaborate with our friends and colleagues. It鈥檚 a wonderful way to share great music with the Santa Barbara community.鈥
Highlights of the recital will include Steve Hodson, professor of music, premiering his work for piano 鈥淟鈥檈au Miroitante鈥 or 鈥淭he Shimmering Water.鈥 Hodson directs the keyboard studies program at 黑料百科, teaches conducting and a Survey of Western Music course, directs choral ensembles and serves as organist at First United Methodist Church. He also conducts the Santa Barbara Master Chorale. He earned a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Kim, an award-winning and internationally accomplished violinist, performs 鈥淪onatensatz鈥 by Brahms. He has performed at the Boston Symphony Hall, Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
Keyboardist Neil Di Maggio will premiere one of four piano preludes written by alumnus Daniel Gee, adjunct instructor in theory and composition at 黑料百科.
