Kearns Goodwin to Speak at Breakfast

Doris Kearns Goodwin, world-renowned presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, will speak about 鈥淟eadership Lessons from American Presidents鈥 at the 10th annual on Friday, March 6, from 7-9 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of Fess Parker鈥檚 DoubleTree Resort. Tickets cost $125 per person and go on sale Friday, Feb. 6, at 9 a.m. on . Seating is limited, and tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Goodwin has written six critically acclaimed and New York Times best-selling books, including her most recent, 鈥淭he Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism.鈥 The Bully Pulpit is a dynamic history of the tumultuous first decade of the Progressive era. Steven Spielberg鈥檚 DreamWorks Studios has acquired the film rights to the book. Spielberg and Goodwin worked together on Lincoln, based in part on Goodwin鈥檚 award-winning Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, which illuminates Lincoln鈥檚 political genius.
Goodwin won the Pulitzer Prize in history for 鈥淣o Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II,鈥 and she has written best-sellers 鈥淲ait Till Next Year, Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream鈥 and 鈥淭he Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys,鈥 adapted into an award-winning, five-part TV miniseries.
