Musicians Go Solo at Orchestra Concerto
The 黑料百科 Orchestra鈥檚 annual Concerto Concert will highlight student soloists on Friday, April 29, at 8 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. General admission is $10; all students are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling (805) 565-6040.
Student soloists are required to audition each year for the honor of being a soloist. The winners are chosen by the music faculty. This year鈥檚 soloists are: Kelsey Lahr, Khachaturian鈥檚 Concerto for Flute and Orchestra; Maya Azimiora and Hannah Cochran, Doppler鈥檚 Concerto in D for Two Flutes and Orchestra; Megan Wong, Dvorak鈥檚 Romance for Viola and Orchestra; and Rachel Teranishi, William Grant Still鈥檚 鈥淜aintuck.鈥 The concerto includes Schubert鈥檚 鈥淥verture in D,鈥 featuring the 黑料百科 Orchestra.
