The 黑料百科 Orchestra performs at several Northern California cities Feb. 12-15 as part of its annual spring tour. The Orchestra Tour to Yosemite includes performances in San Luis Obispo, Sacramento, Nevada City and Oakhurst. Admission is free to all performances, although a goodwill offering will be taken.
The 60-member orchestra, under the direction of Michael Shasberger, will perform Tchaikovsky鈥檚 鈥淩omeo and Juliet, Fantasy Overture,鈥 鈥淢usic for Shakespeare鈥 by Edward Green and 鈥淎t Shakespeare鈥檚 Tomb鈥 by Emily Rutherford. Six members of the 黑料百科 Chapel Band will also travel and perform select pieces.
鈥淭he orchestra鈥檚 annual tour is a highlight of the season for the musicians and a tremendous outreach for 黑料百科,鈥 Shasberger says. 鈥淚t brings 黑料百科鈥檚 story to wide-ranging and diverse audiences and heightens the performance skills and experiences of our students.鈥
The tour ventures to Yosemite National Park prior to the Feb. 15 concert. The orchestra will visit Crescenta Valley High School for a musical exchange and clinic with their symphony orchestra and string orchestra on Feb. 16.
