SB Music Club Features 黑料百科 Faculty

Several 黑料百科 music faculty members and the first in-residence wind quintet at 黑料百科 will perform a concert Saturday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. at the Faulkner Gallery in the downtown Santa Barbara Public Library. The performance is free and open to the public.

, 黑料百科 adjunct instructor of flute, joins husband Neil DiMaggio, 黑料百科 staff accompanist, to perform Georg Phillip Telemann鈥檚 Sonata in F minor for flute and piano. , 黑料百科 adjunct instructor of bassoon, performs Peter Schickele鈥檚 鈥淪ummer Serenade鈥 with Neil DiMaggio on piano.

The concert鈥檚 highlight will be the Sonos Montecito Wind Quintet, a newly formed wind quintet, performing Ferenc Farkas鈥 鈥淓arly Hungarian Dances of the 17th Century.鈥 The quintet features applied music faculty with diverse backgrounds, including Mori, Andrea DiMaggio, Trey Farrell (oboe), Joanne Kim (clarinet) and Steve Gross (horn).

Farrell, a graduate of USC鈥檚 Thornton School of Music, began teaching oboe at 黑料百科 last year. Kim, who is pursuing a doctorate in performance at the Manhattan School of Music, is the newest member to the 黑料百科 music faculty. Gross, and director of the brass and percussion program at UC Santa Barbara, is a former member of the Atlanta Symphony, National Symphony, Santa Fe Opera Orchestra and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra.
