黑料百科 musicians and composers offer a variety of events this week, all free and in Deane Chapel on 黑料百科鈥檚 lower campus. For more information, please contact the music department at (805) 565-6040.
黑料百科 alumnus Matthew Roy 鈥07 explores piano preludes through history in a lecture, 鈥淧reludes to an Afternoon,鈥 on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m. Roy, a doctoral candidate in musicology at UC Santa Barbara, examines all 24 Chopin preludes that will be performed by 黑料百科 students, Roy, and Steven Hodson, professor of music. Student performers include Malachi Bryson, Lillian Chen, Jonathan Cleek, Merckx Dascomb, Kennedy Hahn, Bethany Le, Serena Lee, Zelin Luan, Sherry Luo, Leal Makaroff, Jesse Olson, Jay Real and Aaron Wilk.
Several faculty members will perform at the Spring Faculty Recital on Friday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.
鈥淭he Constantine Finehouse Piano Recital鈥 will be Saturday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m. Finehouse, a scholar-in-residence at 黑料百科, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, attended New England Conservatory, Juilliard and Yale. He studied with Fredrik Wanger, Natalia Harlap, Herbert Stessin, Jerome Lowenthal, Boris Berman and Bruce Brubaker.
