Embrace the sounds of Christmas and classical music 8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the ���ϰٿ� Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra concert in Deane Chapel on ���ϰٿ�’s lower campus. Admission is free.

“The group has grown in size, morale and quality each semester,” director Ron McCarley said.

The group will perform two medleys, a selection of Christian hymns and Christmas carols as well more serious music, McCarley said. They will perform “Suite” by the Brazilian composer Villa-Lobos, “Overture for Winds” by Charles Carter, “Serenade” by modern Christian composer V. Persichetti, and “Fairest of the Fair,” a classic band march by J.P. Sousa. A flute quartet will also play a piece, McCarley said.
